Product Overview

The SN1104-2 Impulse Test Generator is a professional high voltage impulse testing device designed according to IEC 62368-1:2018 Clause 5.4.2, Clause 5.5.8, Annex D, Annex G.10 and Table D.1 Circuit 1 requirements.

It is mainly used to evaluate transient overvoltage withstand capability, verify electrical clearance and creepage distance, and detect insulation breakdown performance of electronic and electrical products.

The equipment is widely applied in safety laboratories and manufacturers for testing household appliances, audio/video equipment, information technology equipment, and similar electronic products.

Testing Principle & Process

The impulse test generator applies a specified high-voltage pulse to the test sample to simulate transient overvoltage conditions.

During testing:

  1. The generator outputs a preset impulse voltage to the sample.
  2. The insulation system is subjected to transient electrical stress.
  3. If insulation breakdown occurs, the sample may generate visible sparks or acoustic discharge.
  4. The test result is evaluated by observing voltage response changes and insulation performance.

This test helps determine whether electrical products have sufficient insulation protection against unexpected voltage surges.
